Is truth desire and ‘Power of will’ enough to achieve something?
Hello everyone, welcome to the NoHappyForever blog once again!
Today is one of those nights in which I question everything about me.
You know, I am the kind of person that has too many hobbies: I love music, drawing, videogames, stationery, cars, etc… And for some reason, the way I enjoy things use be ‘being good’ at it.
I like music, but I TRULY like it when I get to play that piano song right; or drawing, I love it, but I REALLY love it when I get to finish a drawing and it is beautiful and exactly like it was in my mind.
For this reason, I got to know that some hobbies are not for me, at least in an active way (this is part of growing up, you get to know yourself better, and it is like this for me).
I started to approach some hobbies as spectator, you know? No more trying to do something that I am not willing to invest the time it requires to be learnt, it is even disrespectful by me to expect to be good at it when I’m not investing the time it deserves.
All is good ’till that point.
Now, the question is, for the things we didn’t give up and reserved the time they deserve… When are we suppossed to get good at it? :’)
In this times, I wonder, is power of will enough? Is your truly desire and passion for something what you need to be good at something?
Or maybe do you need to have born with it within?
I know this is a topic quite polished by the time being, but I still wonder:
Is somebody who ‘completely lacks sense of rythm’ able to create music? Or, is somebody who is ‘absolutely bad at drawing’ able to create a good image with their hands?
I like to think, yes, to any of those questions. For my own personal good, I really like to think that it is possible.
Nonetheless, my experience has shown me that it doesn’t work like that, because my time to be good at something didn’t show up yet. :’)
Maybe I will never be good at something, or maybe I just didn’t put the time enough yet. Who knows?
Sincerely, the NoHappyForever team.
